Mr Alex Brealy
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Geography; PGCE; Level 1 Rugby Referee; Level 1 Hockey Coach and umpire.
Mr Brealy has been a part of Rendcomb College since 1994 holding positions as a Geography teacher, sports coach and match official as well as his duties as a Houseparent.
Mr Brealy’s love of geography and sports is the perfect combination within Rendcomb’s surroundings and in a house full of active boys. His hobbies include a number of outdoor activities including cross country and hill walking while also having a love of team sports such as rugby, hockey and cricket.
“There is a real family atmosphere at Rendcomb and that could not be more evident than in Old Rec. Students are valued throughout Rendcomb and are allowed to be themselves and grow into outstanding students and individuals.”
Mr Brealy’s aim as a house parent is to contribute to the pupils’ growth.
“I aim to guide the boys into becoming young gentlemen with ambition and empathy.”
His favourite activities with the boarders are canoeing and climbing, while he also enjoys competing against the kids in the regular dodge-ball tournaments.
“We have created a close-knit community in the Old Rectory and the bonds the pupils have with each other and with all the house staff is something we pride ourselves on.”
