Cross country success for Year 5 and 6 pupils

On Thursday, 31 January pupils from Rendcomb College Junior School competed in a cross country race at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester.
Four pupils from both Year 5 and 6 competed against local schools in a challenging cross country course across the RAU's grounds.
The Rendcomb pupils competed in separate races based on their year group with separate races for boys and girls.
The Year 5 participants, Amelia and Harry, placed 8th and 9th respectively in their races. Year 6 pupils, Mia and Reuben, placed 7th and 12th respectively in the Year 6 category.
Their placements mean that Harry, Amelia and Mia have all qualified for the Primary Schools Cross Country Championships on Saturday, 2 March at St Edward's School, Cheltenham. Reuben’s placing qualified him for the reserve list.
Accompanying teacher, Mr Jon Arnold, said: “Congratulations to our runners who competed in difficult conditions as the ground was frosty and overnight temperatures had dropped to -8. Our four runners conducted themselves excellently and gave their absolute all in their races. Well done and we look forward to seeing how they progress in the upcoming competitions.”
