Paw-some effort for Help for Heroes

Rendcomb College Junior School have been commended for their contribution to the Help for Heroes Teddy Bear Appeal last term.

The Junior School have been awarded a special certificate in recognition of their contribution to the Help for Heroes Christmas Campaign in aid of the injured service men and women in Tidworth.

Over the one week period, the children placed over 50 soft toys in front of the fireplace in Rendcomb’s main reception with a special Christmas message written by the pupils attached to each one.

The Teddy Bear Appeal was arranged especially by Rendcomb Junior School in support of the injured service men and women who spent the Christmas period in hospital because of their injuries. The appeal gave out all of the Teddy’s and toys as gifts to the children left without their families over Christmas.

Head of Juniors, Gavin Roberts said: “It was fantastic to see our teddy bear collection growing in number over the course of the last few weeks of term; well done to all of our pupils for supporting such a worthwhile cause.”

The gifts were given out as part of a fantastic Christmas party held for children, where the families got together and celebrated.
