Rendcomb Students Representing Team England at WDC

Rendcomb College is proud to report that 3 of its students, Annabella (15), Maya (13), and Norah (11), have been selected to represent Team England this summer at the Dance World Cup in Portugal!
More incredible is that they are sisters! They will be competing with their team from The Wootton Bassett School of Dance. All 3 girls will be taking part in several group dances during the competition, but Maya has been selected to perform 2 solo dances also. Maya and her sisters commented that this was quite an accomplishment, as normally it is hard to qualify for one solo! The sisters are very proud of each other and are excited to see how they do at the Dance World Cup...as are we!
Annabella (far left) began dancing at just 5-years old when she joined a club at school. From this moment, she loved to dance; in fact, she enjoyed it so much that it rubbed off on her sisters Maya (middle) and Norah (far right), who joined the club when they turned 2½ and 2, respectively. Now the girls love the sport and say they are motivated by their passion for dance to do as well as they possibly can. Annabella and Norah enjoy performing a range of dance styles, and while Maya dances across a range of genres also, she particularly enjoys Acro and Jazz.
As mentioned previously, they dance with the Wootton Bassett School of Dance, a team they very much enjoy being a part of. They also dance ballet right here at Rendcomb College. Annabella commented that she feels their time at Rendcomb College has helped further their passion for dance and has given them extra opportunities to explore the sport they love. While mum and dad are not dancers themselves, the girls say they are extremely supportive of their dancing and are excited for them to compete.
Annabella (pictured above), Maya, and Norah cannot wait to represent Team England in Portugal as they have never competed at such a prestigious competition before. The biggest competition they have taken part in was the Longwell Green Festival, which they also entered with their Wootton Bassett School of Dance team. At this competition, their team received 1st place! As well as performing with their team the girls performed two duos: Annabella and Maya did wonderfully - taking 2nd place in their category, and Maya and Norah also excelled and took 3rd place for their duo. In the solos, Annabella earned a 3rd place award adding to the impressive collection of accolades between the girls.
