Rendcomb College Pupils Celebrate their Best Ever GCSE Results!

What a fantastic year for Rendcomb College.

Today they are deservedly celebrating the best ever set of GCSE results at the school in the last 10 years. With 52% of pupils receiving grades 9-7, a whopping 77% at 9-6 and 95% 9-4 in what has been a GCSE course like no other.

Having to learn a large proportion of their subjects via online teaching during lockdown, coupled with the associated disruption to school and family life; this year’s cohort are living proof that resilience, determination and overcoming adversity are all key attributes that Rendcomb College embodies in its pupils.

Headmaster Rob Jones said “What can I say? This year’s results are outstanding and I am so pleased for the pupils. Whilst we were anticipating the results to sit somewhere between the last normally invigilated exams in 2019, and those Centre Assessed Grades in 2020 and 2021, to go on and deliver a record year for Rendcomb College is just fantastic. It is a real testament to the pupil’s hard work, but also to that of teachers, parents and carers who guided these young people through what has been, quite frankly, the most disruptive period in modern educational history. I am absolutely thrilled for all of them.”

Subjects where pupils did particularly well include Geography and History, both with 86% grades 9-7, Computing with 84% 9-7, Physics with 80% 9-7 as well as Art and Drama with 63% and 67% respectively at grades 9-7.

Of particular note, Bertie P achieved 9 Grade 9’s and an A* in A-Level Maths. Lyra E-J achieved 11 grades 9-8, Roo J achieved 9 grades 9-7, alongside Henry C and Jack P. Jemima L also did exceptionally with 11 grades 9-7.

As Rendcomb College continues to deliver on its academic focus, embodying its key values of creating Thoughtful, Adventurous and Ambitious pupils, it’s no wonder that this September admissions intake is set to be a bumper one, with places for their September Open Morning filling up fast.

A superb set of GCSE results with much celebrating to be done with families and friends.
