All pupils are encouraged to be curious about their environment. Our superb setting, within 230 acres of Cotswold parkland, enables us to provide a very rich outdoor area including our Forest School for Junior School pupils and a dedicated Outdoor Education area for Senior School pupils.

Located in the ‘Wilderness’, the Forest School provides an extensive area for children to enjoy the natural world within a safe and supportive environment, whilst allowing them the freedom to experience unfamiliar challenges and take controlled risks. Forest School activities are designed in conjunction with the National Curriculum and the benefits can be seen across the age ranges, providing lifelong learning and life skill opportunities for all.

Senior pupils benefit from a dedicated Outdoor Education area which provides a multitude of opportunities for bush craft, leadership, orienteering and Duke of Edinburgh activities.

These outdoor activities are successful at developing each pupil’s physical, co-ordination and social skills. Pupils learn to work with others in a group and to express themselves as independent learners. The practical activities enable them to experience numeracy, literacy, science and many other subjects within a natural and stimulating environment.

Deer Park and The Woodland Trust

Within the Rendcomb College grounds lies a Deer Park. The Deer Park features in the Doomsday Record and is currently home to over 70 fallow deer. The parkland is also classified as an ancient tree hotspot by the Woodland Trust as it boasts 172 ancient trees including sweet chestnut and oak. With so many trees of special interest, the parkland has been identified as having a high conservation value.
